Navigation Software for Yachtsmen from Navigation UK

Navigation Passage Planning software from Neptune allows display of fully detailed electronic charts on the PC screen, with continuous update of GPS position and GPS track recording.

Passage Planning

The passage planning functions enable input of waypoints, either from a table of waypoints or by mouse position. The waypoints can be built into a route, which can be stored and recalled as required. The PC is used to calculate the effects of wind and tide on your vessel, providing instant values for course to steer, optimum departure, no-sail courses and tidal heights at ports, or over shoals. Neptune offer a choice of three different chart systems, over which all the route planning and tidal prediction functions are displayed.

Powerful, Cost-Effective Passage Planning with Planner Plus

The most suitable product for most yachtsmen is usually the PlannerPlus. This uses fully detailed raster charts, which are available for most sailing areas around the UK and adjacent coasts of Europe. The charts are provided at a very economical price, yet give full chart details.

World-Wide Navigation with C-Map Planner

Where the vessel is expected to voyage beyond the local European waters, Neptune has the C-Map Planner. This offers all the same planning and calculation facilities, but uses vector charts, supplied by C-Map, as the cartography. The benefit of these charts is availability of chart folios for almost any area of the world, but these charts can work out more expensive. The PlannerPlus and C-Map Planner can interface with AIS receivers if required.

Navigating with Paper Charts plus the Power of Neptune Outline Planner

Many yachtsmen enjoy the task of navigating their vessels and prefer to use paper charts as their main work area and source of navigation details. Neptune caters for these traditionalists with the Outline Planner. This uses simplified outline charts, with coastal outline and zero-metre contour, but which do not show the details, such as rocks, wrecks, buoys and nature of sea-bed. The navigator will obtain these details from the paper chart in the conventional way. The Outline Planner still permits all the passage planning functions of the fully detailed chart systems, with the same calculations.

Neptune Planner Plus

The latest release from Neptune Navigation, and the ideal planning and chart system for most leisure sailors.
The chart folios cover most popular sailing areas all around the UK and the adjacent coasts of Europe.
Instant calculations of course to steer, and optimum departure times, allowing for wind and tides. Predicted track is displayed, so that you can immediately see if it is safe.
Under way, your GPS position is plotted continuously, allowing constant checking against your predicted track.

Neptune C-Map Planner

The system of choice for those sailing beyond European waters. The C-Map chart system has world-wide coverage, so you can enjoy the benefits of Neptune passage planning and navigation anywhere you choose to sail.
The facilities are very similar to Planner Plus and cover a wider area, but costs for the charts are a little higher.

Outline Passage Planner

Do you prefer to use paper charts, rather than rely on electronic charts?
Are you proud of your navigation skills and do not want to stop making use of them?
The Outline Passage Planner was designed just for you. You continue to navigate just as before, using your favourite charts, but now have a powerful assistant to handle all the routine look-up and calculations.
You can continue to work it all out for yourself, then cross-check with the answer on the PC, or use the program as your first resource, and apply your skills to checking you made no mistakes in entering any
figures or positions.
For any date and time, the tidal steams are displayed on a coastal outline chart. You can step through time, half an hour at a time
The real bonus comes when you enter a simple leg, or a route, and the PC will then calculate the course to steer, allowing for wind and tide, plus showing the optimum departure time for any trip.
You are in command, the PC is your tool.

Neptune Tides

Have you ever struggled to calculate tidal heights at secondary ports? Or wished it was quicker to look up tide tables in the almanac and calculate height or range for a given period - such as when anchoring?
Now you can have the answers at your fingertips. Instant graphs, showing exactly what rise of tide is predicted at any chosen date, time and port. Next day? Just click !
Monthly tables can be viewed or printed.

Tidal Stream Atlas

Do you find tidal stream atlases frustrating, when you have to rub out all the times and write them again every day?
The Neptune tidal stream program provides tidal heights and a dynamic tidal stream atlas. Choose your date with a couple of mouse clicks then step through half-hour at a time. The atlas instantly updates to give you a quick overview of tidal patterns as they change.
Set and drift figures are displayed for every tidal diamond, together with stream arrows.
